For The Home

The electric washing machine was first mass-produced in 1906. Since then, they have come a long way. If you are in the market for a new one today, you're not just buying a washing machine, but a clothes-cleaning system that interfaces with your needs. This new generation of washing machines offers functions like larger load capacity, a variety of washing cycles, child-proof features, speed and energy efficiency.

Experts agree that front-loading washing machines are generally better than top-loaders. The biggest advantage of front-loaders is their energy efficiency; they use 40% to 50% less water and 50% to 65% less electricity than conventional top-loaders. And, they offer fast spin speed that removes more water from clothing to cut down drying time.

Since the life expectancy of a washing machine is about twelve years or more, you do want to consider what your needs will be for the future. So whether you are buying your first washing machine or replacing an old one, your money may be better spent on a new technologically advanced machine that will make washing your clothes effortless.

The Whirlpool® Duet® front-loader offers a large assortment of features including a built in water heater which is more effective in getting out stains, especially in whites, sanitary cleaning so that sheets can be washed with pet blankets and various cycles for fabrics such as silks and woolen cycles.

The Nexxt® Premium Platinum is a technologically advanced washer manufactured by Bosch. This front-loading 18-pound capacity washer includes digital sensors that determine load size, water level and water temperature. This machine virtually operates at a touch of a button.

Our choice in a top-loader is the General Electric Profile Harmony™, a 4 cubic foot washer that uses a disc to toss clothes showering them with water and detergent. A unique feature is its ability to link up with a corresponding GE Profile dryer to electronically let it know what wash cycle was used so that the dryer can adjust its settings accordingly.
