The warm weather is here and we all lean towards more casual attire to stay cool and comfortable. Unlike heavy winter clothing, there are some fashion blunders that just stand out too much with summer attire. All you have to do is stroll through the Mall or local supermarket to see them. A quick look in the mirror before leaving the house should reveal some of these things, but others we may not give much thought to until it is pointed out to us. Here are some of the blunders that we notice. |
| |
Belly just a little too noticeable. Avoid belly shirts and bikinis if this is a problem area for you. And really, how many women can really pull off showing their stomach? If you have extra fat in the belly area, it is less noticeable if you wear longer tops over the problem area. |
| |
Too much cleavage... need we say more? Make sure that tops fit properly; especially when bending over. |
| |
Too tight stretch pants. If they are personal favorites, wear them at home, not to the mall. They are great for lounging around the house, but the knees get baggy very quickly. And remember to wear a long top over them so every bump doesn't show. |

Self tanner applied incorrectly. If you find yourself with a smear of color that you hadn't intended on, a wedge of lemon will dissolve the mistake in seconds. The trick is to buy a good self tanner and try it out first on an area that does not show to make sure it reacts properly with your skin. |

White panties under white pants. Overly obvious pantylines are bad enough... but to see the outline of panties is a big faux pas. Always wear nude underwear under white tops and pants. |
| |
Ill-fitting bra. You can get away with this under a heavy winter sweater, but not the lighter summer tops. Make sure your bras fit properly so you don't have bulges in the back or straps that dig into your shoulders. |

Not so pretty feet. Nothing is worse than nasty toenails popping out of a beautiful pair of sandals. If you don't have time to go to a salon for a professional pedicure, there are a few things you can do to help the situation. Start by soaking feet in warm soapy water for a few minutes to soften skin. Any dead skin can then be easily removed with a pumice stone or foot file. Next, use a nail file or
clippers to trim down your winter talons. Afterwards, massage feet with a cooling peppermint foot cream and finish up with a quick drying polish. |

| Wearing the wrong colors. All skin tones among us are not created equal. To look your best, choose wardrobe colors that complement your skin. Wearing the wrong colors will make your skin appear sallow and lines and wrinkles will be more evident. The lime green or hot pink that you saw on the runways may look fabulous on the models, but horrible on you. Experiment with different colors and stick with the palettes that look best on you. |
